Who we are
myvalentine.to is run by Creative Syndicates Tech Ltd, company number 17003909, registered in England and Wales.
Registered office: Castle House, High Street, Ammanford, SA18 2NB, United Kingdom. Email: calum@gfxdistrict.com.
What we collect
- The name in a free link. It is part of the address you share, and anyone with the link can see it.
- Your email, if you create an account. Google or Apple may also share your name when you sign in with them.
- What you put in a letter: names, messages, dates, places, answers, photos, and a voice note if you record one. A draft, including that recording, may stay in this browser until you save it.
- Whether a live letter was opened, and whether the person tapped yes or no.
- A payment reference if you unlock the account. Stripe takes the card details. We do not store your full card number.
- Basic visit counts, and short security logs. A log can include an IP address and the page address.
Why, and who else sees it
We use this to run the site, keep it safe, show a letter to the person you send it to, and keep payment records the law requires. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising cookies. Signing in uses a cookie so you stay logged in.
Other companies handle some of this for us:
- Stripe takes payment. PayPal does too, if you choose it.
- Google or Apple, if you sign in with them.
- The companies that host the site and store accounts, letters, photos, and voice notes.
Anyone you send a live link to can read that letter, and hear a voice note if you added one. Some of these companies store information outside the United Kingdom.
Voice notes
A voice note is optional, and it can be up to 60 seconds. Until you save the letter, the recording stays in this browser. After you save, we store the audio file with the letter. It is not written into the letter text. Anyone with the live link can press play and hear it.
We keep it so they can hear the message you chose to send. We do not analyse the recording, turn it into a voiceprint, or use it to identify you or anyone else.
A voice is personal information. Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and under the EU GDPR (in Poland, RODO), a voice file is biometric data only when it is processed to uniquely identify someone. We do not do that. We treat the recording as part of the letter, not as special category biometric data.
Record only your own voice, or a voice you have permission to use. You can delete the note in the letter. Email us if you want the account deleted, and the recording with it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, letters, photos, and voice notes while the account is open. Email us if you want them deleted. We may still keep a payment record where the law requires it. A draft in your browser stays until you clear it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email calum@gfxdistrict.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The site is for adults. If we have collected information about a child, email us and we will delete it.
